How to Open Your Amazon Selling Account [Roadmap to Your First Sale Series - 4]
If you have been following this series you are now ready to open up your Amazon selling account and get your business off the ground. Before we walk you through the process, make sure you have the following at your disposal
Setting up Your Amazon Account: What you will need:
- Business Name & Address
- Valid Phone Number (immediately verified)
- Credit Card or Debit Card
- Business Bank Account information
- Tax Identification Number (EIN) Information (EIN or SSN: not recommended but acceptable by Amazon)
- Email address
Now that you’ve gathered all of your important business documents, you are ready to begin.
Where do I start?
If you already have an Amazon buying account, you can use the same login to setup your selling account. If you prefer, you can create a completely separate account for selling. You are only allowed one selling account per household so be sure that you (or someone else in your household) haven’t already completed this process. To check visit this website and login. It will give you a login option. If you do not have a seller account it will prompt you to create one.
How long will it take?
Give yourself at least 20 minutes to complete the application process preferably without distraction. You want to make sure that you include all of the correct information.
How do I know what to do?
Amazon’s user interface walks you through the process. They will let you know at each step what type of information you need to provide. Keep in mind that they might take a few hours or even a few days to correctly verify your identity. Once they check everything out you will be notified that your account has been approved!
