AF164 - Is Amazon a BULLY?

amazon files Oct 19, 2020

If you’ve been selling on Amazon for a while, it can feel like they’re trying to bully sellers into submission. Not only do they make drastic changes, they sometimes don’t even bother telling you beforehand. But don’t get discouraged: with over 80% of U.S. households joining Amazon Prime in 2020, it’s no doubt it’s still the best place to sell. You certainly don’t have to be afraid of big bad Amazon, either, as there are action points you can take to stand up to Amazon and hold them accountable for their policies.

In this episode, I discuss how you can proactively prevent Amazon from bullying you. I illustrate some drastic changes they have made on the Seller Central homepage and reveal why they’re making those changes. I advise how you can persistently file your cases and explain why you need to answer the polls and surveys Amazon offers. I also describe how hiring virtual assistants can help you manage the cases you file against Amazon and underscore why voicing your thoughts matters.

“No one’s going to fight for your business except you. If something violates policy, hold Amazon accountable as much as you can.” - Kristin Ostrander
