I am a mom of three, wife and serial entrepreneur. I'm a risk taker who thrives on journeys outside of my comfort zone and serving others. When building a business, I like to dream big and take small calculated steps towards my goals.

Growing up in a single parent family, money was tight and I had to learn to be frugal and smart with my limited funds in order to do the fun things I had my eyes set on. I learned quickly that money was earned not given so I began looking for ways to earn and save money. Long before smartphones and apps like offer up, I would sell candy to friends, babysit and clean for neighbors to earn cash. As a teenager, I set a goal to buy myself a car. On my 16th birthday I bought a car outright with cash. I quickly realized the power of making my own money. I started my first business when I was 21 and never looked back.

My husband and I started our family in 1999 and with his feast or famine construction job, entrepreneurship seemed like my best option. With limited time and resources as a young mom, I continued to sell items online through Ebay to make ends meet. With our growing family and bills piling up, I opened my Amazon store in 2008 to expand. Even with a tight budget and a few hours a day, business growth was slow but steady.

A few years later tragedy struck and my husband was injured and couldn’t work. Despite my growing businesses I wasn’t earning enough income to support a family of 5. We ended up in foreclosure and lost our home.

Thankfully, the story doesn't end there. My ecommerce business was growing despite our financial woes. After a year of physical therapy my husband went back to work and I jumped into full time business building beast mode. After several more years of mind blowing success, I was gently nudged by a few friends to start sharing my story with others. In hopes of helping others find similar success, I began teaching a live videocast every week in 2014. This was the birth of Mommy Income. My favorite part of what of I do as a coach and teacher is being a part of someone else's success. Just when I thought it couldn’t get much better, I met Amy……

Entrepreneurship is in my DNA. My parents are entrepreneurs so I saw it first hand growing up. As a wife and mom of two, I didn't want a job that kept me away from my family or too exhausted to spend time with them when I got home.

Growing up as a child of entrepreneurs, it was the farthest thing from my mind to become one. I honestly wanted nothing to do with it. I went to college and worked as a project manager in two different design firms. Project management suited my OCD organizational tendencies but my Dad always told me that I wouldn't be happy in my world while I still worked for someone else. After years of stress, 80 hour work weeks and a boss that was difficult to work for, I was laid of while six months pregnant with my oldest child. I was done living by someone else's rules and timeline.

I spent the first two years of my son's life dabbling in extreme couponing, blogging, and wedding invitation design. I never felt attached or passionate about any of them. I didn't want to go back to a 9-5 but needed to help support my family. I felt like I was drifting until I stumbled upon a blog where a woman detailed her yard sale finds and how she sold them for cash on eBay. Now there was something I could do. I love yard saling and finding a good deal. A business of treasure hunting for resale was born. I was hooked.

My eBay store grew and grew and became overwhelming. I even hired a virtual assistant to help with the work load. It was around that time that I was introduced to selling on Amazon and after a few months of testing the waters, I jumped ship from eBay to Amazon and haven't looked back. 

In my thirst for more information on how to grow my Amazon business, I found Kristin's first videocast and the rest is history.
